Mental, Physical & Social Wellness
FOREWORD
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on the mental health and wellbeing of people around the world while also raising concerns of increased suicidal behaviour. In addition, access to mental health services has been severely impeded. However, no comprehensive summary of the current data on these impacts has until now been made widely available.
This scientific brief is based on evidence from research commissioned by WHO, including an umbrella review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses and an update to a living systematic review. Informed by these reviews, the scientific brief provides a comprehensive overview of current evidence about:
-
the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the prevalence of mental health symptoms and mental disorders
-
the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on prevalence of suicidal thoughts and behaviours
-
the risk of infection, severe illness, and death from COVID-19 for people living with mental disorders
-
the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health services
-
the effectiveness of psychological interventions adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent or reduce mental health problems and/or maintain access to mental health services

Make a BIG IMPACT
The impact The Hive Effect has on the local population is on a scale like no other in Sandwell. It is comparable to that of fresh air and fresh water. There are only essential benefits to be gained by reconnecting communities with each other and nature, by utilising the remaining spaces we have left. Together, our Hive Mind will overcome impossible challenges with ease, because common sense will prevail every time. Lets us talk.
Physical Health is a primary concern to many who find it hard to afford such a lifestyle, and pretty much everyone we have ever had the pleasure of meeting within all of our communities, areas and boroughs, believe that so much more should be done to improve the health and wellbeing of the population, where we all live, no matter where in the country that is.
Mental Health is a primary concern. Our youngsters have abysmal existences in the "great outdoors" that is totally unfit for purpose, lacks inspiration, activity or response, our elders are isolated, cold and lonely, locked away in flats, left to ponder their now meaningless lives, our teenagers are on the streets because they have nowhere to go, no purpose, or they're jumping off motorway bridges and swinging from trees because they have no support.
Bringing communities together for a common cause is something that is slowly being lost and a sense of purpose is hard to find for many people in society. The Hive Effect aims to slowly rebuild community and provide purpose and opportunity to complement the people within.
